Whoever they may be

Good teachers are potters,sculptors

They fashion young minds and hearts

And watch with pride as children transform

Into exquisite works of art to take their place

As mature adults, loyal citizens

The leaders of tomorrow

Remember: (The dawn of each poet,

Each philosopher and leader

Began with teachers

Our Prime Minister is one such leader

The teachers of Bukit Mertajam High School

Moulded this man of charisma

And under his dynamic leadership

Better days ahead

(Whopping, mind-boggling billions, you know!)

With him and Datuk Seri Hishamuddin at the helm,

We look forward to a brighter tomorrow. (Psst…psst)

(We are now at par with other Civil Servants)

(What on earth does that mean?)

(Exemplary teachers and resourceful principals

Can now vie for the JUSA C!)

Ummm….that’s something to celebrate!

(But for now, let’s not forget the veteran teachers

Whom we honour today!)

We salute the Tokoh Guru and our leaders

For showing us the way

You raise us up

So we can stand on mountains

You raise us up

To walk those stormy seas

We are strong

When we can work together

You raise us up

To all that we can be.
