Ceiling Fan

In the year 1830, inspired by the clockwork-driven mechanical clock, an American inventor, James invented the first ceiling fan that was clockwork-driven.

It was very useful especially during hot summer days. However, it was troublesome as people were needed to climb up to the ceiling fan for the winding process.

Later in 1872, a French engineer named Joseph, made some improvement to the ceiling fan; he invented a gear-driven blade fan which operated using turbines. This version of the fan proved to be far more convenient as compared to the prior design mentioned.

In 1880, after the invention of electric motor, the ceiling fan was then modified with a motor installed and it became the ceiling fan that is being used currently.

Food for Thought :

Continuous improvement and innovation are both needed in order to obtain and achieve better results. They are also needed to create more useful efficient and effective markets for goods and services.
