Apple Tree and Gravity

How Newton discovered the principle of universal gravitation

The great physicist, Isaac Newton loved to read and think under a tree. One day, when he was reading under an apple tree, all of a sudden an apple fell on his head. This inspired him to think about the principle of universal gravitation.

Most people probably think that Newton discovered the principle of universal gravitation because of the falling apple but this discovery did not prove that simple. In Actual fact, Newton had spent a lot of time reflecting on the topic and the falling apple might be the triggering factor for his inspiration.

Food for Thought :

Innovation does not rely on inspiration alone, but also contrinuous efforts in studying and repeated thinking on the related topics which will eventually lead to needed solutions.
