* Think of exams as a chance to
find out how well you have mastered the concepts you have been studying.
* Know when your exams are scheduled,
what they will cover and whether questions will be objective or essay.
* Complete your reading and
homework as they are assigned so you don’t end up cramming at the last minute.
* Identify the material you need
to study and then schedule time to review it over several days.
* Review each chapter / topic
systematically, starting with the oldest information first.
* Use the headings and
subheadings in lecture notes and textbook chapters to organize information and
predict exam questions.
* Make study guides, charts,
outlines, summary sheets, etc., to condense material and show the relationships
of ideas.
* Review actively by asking
yourself questions and then answering them in your own words.
* Keep reviewing concepts until
you understand them well enough to explain them to someone else.
