Macaroni is one of the favorite types of noodles enjoyed by the Europeans.
The discovery of macaroni was by pure coincidence. During the 18th century
there was a restaurant run by Mr Maca Roni in the city of Naples, Italy. The reastaurant specialized in
making all kinds of noodles. It was among the favorites of the locals.
One day while Roni’s daughter was
playing, she took some dough from he dad’s basket, and folded it into a noodles
with a hole in the middle, and put it under the sun to dry. Roni was very angry
as all the dough for that day’s business was ruined. Since he had no choice, he
then took the noodles and boiled them in hot water and mixed them in tomato
sauce to served to his customers. He never thought that his customers would
actually praise him for the delicious noodles.
Soon after, Roni began to make the noodles again for his customers. All his
customers liked it very much. From then on, Roni’s restaurant made noodles with
holes as a specialty, and he became very wealthy. To expand his business, he opened
a factory to process the noodles which he named as macaroni. Macaroni became well-known in many places around the
world.
Food for Thought :
People are often limited by
existing ways of thinking as they are still within the old frame of mind. The
journey towards invention requires one to always keep an open mind, to
constantly observe, be imaginative and creative and to explore new innovative
ideas.
